The Native American population today is 1/3 of what it was when Europeans landed in the Americas in the 1500's.

The majority of them today live in the countries of Bolivia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico and Peru.

Protestant evangelization of the Native American in present day United States began in the early 1600's.  The Massachusetts Bay charter stated, "win and incite the natives of the Country to the Knowledge and obedience of the only true God and Savior of Mankind, and the Christian faith."  The colony seal showed a Native American crying out, "Come over and help."  The Connecticut charter said, that "evangelization" was the "only and principle end" for the colony's establishment.  But after 400 years of missionary work to the Native Americans, only 5% of those in the United States are Christian. Their efforts were for the most part sincere, but their methods are questionable.  They thought the Native Americans had to forsake their culture before they could accept Christ, in other words, become like the Europeans.

    Mother Teresa once said,

"You can do what I cannot do.  I can do what you cannot do.  Together, we can do great things."

Will you become a partner that we might do great things together for the Lord?
